Mom and Dad came to visit us on June 1st. Mom looks so great, she is doing so well on her Medifast. Dad helped us out with tips for our garden. They were on their way making the round trip from Utah, Nevada, California and back to Utah, stopping to visit everyone on the way.
We went and took family pictures at the barley field close to our home. I was waiting for the right opportunity when the barley was tall and the sun was setting. We used the timer on my camera and I think they turned out pretty good considering! My kids are finally old enough to understand that they need to look at the camera when a picture is being taken, so there was no need for someone behind the camera making funny faces.
We haven't had family pictures since Tiernan was a baby.

It rained June 4th!!! It doesn't rain very often here, so my kids love to go out to play in it.We planted tomato plants and we were thinking they wouldn't grow very big because we aren't very good gardeners. Look at how big they are!!! Since that picture they have grown another 2 feet tall and wide. We are going to have fun making them into salsa with our homegrown jalapenos and cilantro.
Tait turned 9 on the 9th. He had a simple birthday with 2 of his friends. They went to the new swimming pool and had fun going down the huge tube slide.
Lisa (my sister) came to visit as she was driving to Wyoming. They slept over and the next day we went and hiked up to the Dixie Rock and took the kids to the park. We also drove Lisa around and walked through some houses that have been left because of foreclosure. There is a huge mansion that someone has just left unfinished. It's unbelievable. We are trying to talk her into moving here. It was fun spending time with them. We only get to see them about twice a year at most. Caden and Sinjin became best buds while they were here. Here's a picture of Caden with Sinjin asleep beside him. Sinjin brought the blanket in and made Caden sit under it with him and watch TV. Isn't it cute!!!
Fathers Day was fun. We started out by making Daddy a big breakfast with a huge stack of pancakes with syrup and applesauce (his favorite combination on pancakes). The kids painted on some 8x10 canvas boards that spelled out the word Daddy, and then I made a collage of the kids pictures to mount on a canvas board also. He loved them, but we are still trying to talk him in to hanging them on the wall in his office!!
Tait went over to his friends house to play and a few minutes later his friend came pounding on the door and told us that Tait just got hit in the mouth with a bat!!! I thought it was a real bat, but it turned out to be the Wii controller. His friend and him were playing Wii Baseball and Tait stepped into the way of the swinger! His tooth went right through his cheek!! He was bleeding everywhere. (and for those of you who know Tait, you know that he thought he was going to die!!) Anyway, we were lucky because his friends mom is a nurse and she was taking care of him when I got there. We didn't want to go get stitches, so we called Thane's friend (who is a Vet) and he told us that Krazy Glue is the same stuff they use to close up cuts. He walked us through gluing Tait's cheek shut. It's already almost healed!
