(: Halloween Carnivals at Church and School :)

Super Freezing Wind at the School Carnival (in which we are forced to attend) to watch our children's Grade Level Dances! ;) Amara and Sinjin chose not to listen to me when I yelled, "Get a coat!" Luckily, we had this blanket in the car!

H-A-double L-O-W-double E-N Spells Halloween!

Here we are getting ready to go trick or treating! I have to say it was much less stressful this year 'cause it was on a Saturday! I loved it! Taking the whole day to play and get ready for trick or treaters! My kids tried to recycle costumes this year, but we only made it about half-way! Sinjin is a cowboy again, so he is recycled, Amara borrowed her costume from a friend so she is recycled, Tiernan wanted to be a vampire (princess) and we didn't have anything, so for her birthday we got her this costume and she wouldn't even wear the collar cause it bugged her! Tait wanted to be Percy Jackson from the popular books "Lighting Thief", so we had to buy him a red t-shirt and a sword. I also had to design the print on the shirt of the words "Camp Half-Blood" and somehow create a silhouette of a Pegasus! I think I did pretty good, although I kind of ruined the tail by pulling up on the iron on transfer too soon! Oh well, we had a lot of fun!

This is the spookiest house on the street. I mean they go all out for Halloween! It's so much fun! Amara and Sinjin were the first to arrive and Amara just walked right past all the super spooky stuff (including a real guy walking toward her with a knife and blood dripping down his hands) to go straight into the abyss and get her candy! Sinjin was on his way following her until he saw the severed fingers on the table! The lady in the dark abyss had to come out and hand him his candy! It was so cool! Next Tait and Tiernan arrived, they would not even get close to the sidewalk! It's a good thing too cause the guy dressed up like Freddy Kruger was posing like a statue and waiting to pounce on them as they walked by. He was good!

Sinjin came down with a fever that night of 103! He wasn't doing too well so it's a good thing we had the stroller along~
Since we didn't carve any pumpkins, I had to take a picture and experiment with my camera, these are my friend Kathryn's pumpkins! Aren't they cute?

I am sorry to say that I was way too lazy to actually carve the pumpkins this year :( Thane has been at work later than usual and I was just too wiped out to actually clean up the mess! So we opted for a new way of decorating pumpkins this year, funny faces, like Mr. Potato Head!




The kids had fun though! So I guess that's all that matters!

A day out with Nana Williamson :)

My mom, Luella, came down to Saint George for a surprise visit! I kept it a secret from the kids so they were so surprised when they came home and saw her sitting in the living room! :) On Sunday we decided to go and see the church history sites. We started out at the Jacob Hamblin Home in Santa Clara. It was so neat to learn about the early pioneers to Southern Utah. I couldn't survive the summer here with out air conditioning, I cant imaging what their lives were like! No wonder they needed more house helpers ;) He had 2 wives and I don't remember how many kids, but they were all needed to survive. One of the wives taught school while the other cooked and mended. The kids were out helping father as soon as they were old enough! Here we are walking in the small orchard in front of their house.


I love the old sandstone blocks they made their buildings with. Here is a picture of Nana with Tiernan and Amara. Their eyes are so pretty I think!

My mother believes that when you see a feather, your ancestors placed it there for you, so you know they are watching over you. And as we were walking through the orchard, of course, we found a feather!

Just messin' around!
After we went to the Jacob Hamblin home, we decided to take a drive through Snow Canyon. It is so beautiful! We had to stop and see the Pioneer Names written in axle grease on the red rock, but we didn't have the proper shoes, so we had to carry the girls and my mom and I took our shoes off! Thank goodness it was sand!

We had such a great day, a lot of memories were made! After the Canyon, we drove to the Mountain Meadow Massacre. A very solemn place, freezing cold wind, I truly feel sorry for everything that happened there. Our last stop was the Brigham Young Home. What a spiritual place. I love living here. It has such rich history.
