The forth grade has the kids put together their own mall every year. They have "school money" that they can earn for doing good things, getting good scores, and they can even sell stuff to their teachers or friends. Then in February they can purchase a business license for $60 and decide what they want to sell. After the mall closes they owe their teachers 10% of their "earnings". I loved this!!! It was so much fun to watch Tait learn about business. He and Thane went out early Thursday morning to a Selenium Mine where they collected a bunch of rocks. Tait and the kids washed them and sorted them by size so they could determine how much he would sell them for. I went in to help Tait set up in the morning, and I couldn't leave! The teachers were giving parents money to go shopping too. Sinjin thought it was the coolest! We came home with a bag full of stuff. What a great experience for Tait. His stores name was Zippy, and he sold Selenium Rocks, toys and books.

Valentines for Friends...
Here are the Valentines I made for my kids this year, each one is a 4x6 so we cut them in half and we get two Valentines on one card! I made Tiernan's first, that's why hers is different, I was too lazy to go back and make a different one for her! I thought the calendar idea was cute, I got it from Family Fun.

Valentines boxes for School!
Okay, so my kids wanted to make valentines day boxes for their class, and of course they couldn't just be normal! In this picture Sinjin is not holding his box, he used his the day before in preschool then he let Tait use it today.
Tait took forever to decide what he wanted to make his box into, but he finally decided on a Robot! It was really fun helping him (I used the glue gun).Amara made a beautiful butterfly envelope, but it is at school, so we took a picture of her bag with her valentines in it.
Tiernan is usually the one who takes forever to decide what she wants to do, but when she saw this idea, she knew instantly it was for her. We had to make the banner say "Heroes". That's her school mascot. I think it's the best one ever!
Here they are all ready for school.

Out into the wilderness.
We have a lot of fun as a family exploring the great terrain of DIXIE!! I love this place. I thought I would hate it before we moved here, but I couldn't love it more. I love the weather, how when it rains, there is always a break in the clouds. I love the ancient feeling the land has. I love being able to find petrified wood, dinosaur tracks, arrow heads, Indian pottery, etc. We have a lot of fun with it. Now we just need a 4 wheel drive car that can get us there without having to share seatbelts! While we were out exploring, it started to rain. The rainbow was amazing. I don't think my camera quite captured it. Tait said, God makes promises and keeps them.
There are so many cool rocks just clustered together on the top of this mountain. Little pebbles that aren't anywhere else.
These are some of the many pieces of petrified wood we found!
Sadie loves Sinjin and Sinjin loves Sadie. They played together the whole time.
How awesome is this rock!?

Hair Moments Continued...
I have been sick of the same old pull back lately, so I decided to experiment. I just grabbed the sides, took a small piece of hair from each side and wound it around the group of hair, and under the ponytail, criss crossed them then tied a small knot with them (kind of like making my own pony tail holder with the hair). Then added the pony tail holder to keep it together. I thought it was cute!

Paragliding and Pictures
Since I am terrified of heights, and Thane loves to para glide, we have accepted (well, at least I have) the fact that I will always be his photographer, safely on the ground.
Here are Tait and Tiernan playing up on the mountain as daddy paraglides. It was freezing, but they didn't mind. That's why Sinjin and Amara are in the car. These pictures are backwards, so this is a picture of Thane landing.
The sun coming through the clouds was beautiful. Sometimes I wonder if I would ever venture out of the house if it weren't for Thane. He is the best! He takes me out of my comfort zone and makes me try new things. I would have just been in the house stressing out about how clean it was, or photo's or preschool, and I would have missed this awesome moment!
It's always an adventure at our home!
