Boy Scout Camp June 21, 2011

I am so glad for a Heavenly Father that understands me, because there is no way that I would send Tait to his first Boy Scout Camp with out his father. Thane was called to be Tait's Scout Leader just as Tait entered Young Mens.  Thank you Heavenly Father, you really knew I would die of a heart attack worrying about Tait while he was gone.  Now, I'm not saying that Thane acts like an adult when he is camping, but at least he's learned his lessons from being a stupid boy and can teach the boys a few things.  Now don't get too offended when I say that boys are stupid, it's a known fact that any mom or dad in their right minds would admit to.  They might seem sweet, smart, independent, and strong, but they are not, and they need CONSTANT supervision.  (or so I'm told ;)

Here are the boys out on a canoe ride.  They were earning their Canoeing Merit Badge, and one of the requirements was to tip the canoe upside down (so the boys fall out) flip it back over and pull themselves back in.  This lake is in the tip top of a mountain, so it's fricken freezing.  They didn't have so much fun.  'Nuf said.

This Merit Badge was much more fun.  One to give me a heart attack for sure.  Rifle shooting.  Can you imagine a whole camp full of boys ranging in age from 12-18 shooting rifles.  It's a miracle they all made it home safely.
