4th of July

The fourth of July in Saint George was somewhat uneventful. We started the day lounging around the house, while Thane prepared a lesson for Sunday.

Here is a picture of us with our traditional new 4th of July shirts.

Then we took the kids to the Worthen Park in downtown Saint George thinking that there would be something for the kids to do that didn't cost anything. BOY WERE WE WRONG! It was so hot too! Here is a picture of the kids at the park, don't they look enthused?

We felt guilty, so we took them to the Shaved Ice Shack out in front of Harmons (cause we had to use a check and all the booths at the park didn't accept them!).

After that we came home and lounged around a bit more, and then had a BBQ. It's so weird to not be close to the extended family on the 4th, it doesn't quite seem the same :( I ran over to the neighbors house for retakes of her little daughter (she wouldn't go to sleep the first time we tried) and they turned out so cute!
We headed up to Foremaster Ridge where we planned on watching the fireworks. We ate as many otter pops as we could, and had a blast sitting in the dirt watching the bombs blasting in air!

It sounds like you ended up having a fun day! I can't believe they didnt' have all the fun free games at the park...they usually always have fun stuff for free....water slides and games...with prizes even. BTW...I love the picture of you and Thane...and the silhouetted one in the sunset. Such talent!!!
